World of Objects (2013)

“Witness as ordinary Objects take on elevated, other-worldly, pathetic or even menacing qualities as they are stripped of the context of commerce.  I promise, you will never look at Objects the same again.”

World of Objects is an exploration of modern human artifacts and their presentation on online classifieds.  In 2013 I began harvesting images from random eBay searches like “four” or “red” and curating them into a gallery.  Inspired by the resurgence of studio photography in the art world, I found that some of these amateur product photos from eBay and Craigslist were indistinguishable from the MFA level high-art photography I was seeing on Tumblr, but with more unintentional humor and mystery. View the entire ongoing series at
